|
|
If you have a conflict with mapped drive letters when you try to use a USB memory stick this may help. For example, if you already have a drive mapped to the letter E: when you insert a USB memory stick, although the device is recognised you may not be able to access if from the "My Computer" window. To assign a different letter to the USB memory stick: 1. Click Start, choose Control Panel and then double-click Administrative Tools 2. From the Administrative Tools window double-click Computer Management 3. From the list on the left click Disk Management, a list will appear in the right half of the window 4. Scroll down the list until you find the USB device you are trying to access 5. Right-click on the USB device and choose "Change drive letter and path" from the menu 6. Click the change button and then re-assign a new drive letter from those listed 7. Click OK to save your changes. 8. Close any open windows and you should be able to access your drive from the "My Computer" window under the newly assigned drive letter.
