| Avoiding truncating of data when merging from Excel to Word |

To override the truncating of characters when merging cells from Excel to Word that contain more than 255 characters. 1. Restore your mail-merge document to a normal document (Note: All filters/sort criteria will be lost so ensure you make a note of this first). Save and close the document. 2. Open the Tools menu and choose Options 3. Click the General tab and tick "Confirm conversion at open", click OK to accept 4. Re-open the Word document and re-create the Mail Merge - an extra step should appear that allows you to connect to the Excel Data via .DDE - choose this method 5. Re-set your filters/sort options 6. Perform merge and fields should no longer be truncated
